Section A - Tractor Pulling Contest
- An entry fee of $5.00 per entry per class is required. If a contestant wants to jump classes, a fee of $5.00 per class jumped will be charged. Example: Tractor base weight of 4,000 pounds pays an entry fee of $5.00 for class 2; if that tractor is also entered in class 3, an entry fee of $10.00 will be required; if entered in class 4, an entry fee of $15.00 will be required, etc.
- All tractors shall be at the fairgrounds and entered with the superintendent at least two (2) hours prior to scheduled start of the event.
- Classes will be determined by actual weight. Tractors will be weighed in between 5 and 5:30 PM on Friday.
- For stock division - Contest open only to farm tractors in stock mechanical condition. Tractors with steel wheels, four wheel drive, and dual wheels will be allowed providing all contestants in the same class agree. Absolutely no chains allowed.
- Only one driver per tractor per class.
- Only one person allowed on a tractor when pulling and that person shall remain seated. Judges have the right to stop and/or disqualify any contestant if tractor is being operated in an unsafe manner.
- Only one pull allowed unless a tie is declared. Pull is ended when engine stalls or forward motion stops.
- All pulls will start with a tight chain. No jerking or hole digging allowed.
- Contestants shall be 13 years of age or older. Under 16 years of age shall have parent’s written permission and drive parent’s or guardian’s tractor only.
- Draw bars shall not exceed 20" in height. No pulling from 3-point hitch draw bar unless not equipped with stationary bar.
- No additional weight allowed except for liquid tire ballast and/or factory type weights such as wheel weights, suitcase weights, etc. All weights shall be securely fastened in the appropriate place they were designed for.
- A contestant will be allowed to jump classes, providing they pay the entry fee provided in rule #1, by adding pre-weighed weights. Wheel weights, or weights designed to attach to 3-point hitch arms, are the only type allowed.
- In the event there is inclement weather, completion of the event will be at the discretion of the superintendent.
- Superintendent’s interpretation of any rule or rules in question are final.
- Premiums will be based on a sliding scale as shown in the table, with ribbons for five places.
- All entries shall hook to the sled and pull the sled a minimum of 5 feet to be eligible for premiums.
- Contestants will be limited to participate in a maximum of 3 classes, see rule 11 above.
- A tractor shall not operate more than 15% over factory rated RPM and horsepower shall not exceed 5 miles per hour.
